Abstract
The subject of this study is the “Changwon generalmechanical industrial complex” in Changwon city, Republic ofKorea, an improvement project that was completed withexceptional speed. This study aims to contribute useful data andinformation to those in developing countries who are focused onthe balanced development of national territory in the course ofindustrialization and urbanization. As a result, the followingfour important points were obtained: first, enhancement ofacademic research and educational functions; second,strengthening the foundations of small and medium-sizedenterprises; third, symbiosis and readjustment of systems ofindustrialization and urbanization; and fourth, the creation ofthe dynamism of the new regional formation in all respects.
